Welcome another New Editor!

downloadfileIjagun Poetry Journal welcomes Aneesha Roy on its editorial board. Aneesha Roy was born in the city of Kolkata, in West Bengal, India. She is a poet, a critic and a fledgling short story writer. She has been educated in St.Teresa’s Secondary School and St. Paul’s Boarding and Day School, Kolkata. She has been pursuing an undergraduate degree in English literarure at Loreto College, Kolkata, for the better part of the past three years and is four months away from graduating. She is an ardent acolyte of aestheticism and believes that art should exist for art’s sake. She is an avid reader and admirer of verse and drama. She believes that poetry is the inviolable expression of a soul’s quiddity. Currently, she is working on her first poetry collection. She enjoys writing one-act plays when the banal pursuit of examination curricula does not keep her occupied. Apart from literature, she is interested in feminist criticism, philosophy and mythology. We believe her wealth of experience would prove valuable in pushing the journal forward. Email <roy.ijagunpoetryjournal@gmail.com>

About Ijagun Poetry Journal

Ijagun Poetry Journal is a quarterly journal that provides a platform from which we can tell our own stories in the authenticity of their multiplicity through the poetic medium. We don’t want to hear these stories from our master “griots” alone; we want to hear from those mastering their art, too. Hence, we aim at publishing new and emerging poets. We also welcome the works of established poets in order to encourage the poetic genius of those mastering poetic art. We prize original works that conform to, break or reinvent conventions. Again, we accept reviews and critical essays on poetry. We also accept powerful art works and photographs that make us appreciate the "poetry" in everything.
