We pitch our love
against the height of the soaring mountain
and we see the base of our ascent
We measure our love
with the depth of the bottomless valley
and we see a container that never gets full
We stand on the peak of the mountain
and we see the streaks of the multifaced world
The mountain elevates us to the wall of the sky
to bring our query to the ears of the most high
On the mountain,
we see the anguish of success
and the dilemma of failure
We see the grief of relegation
and the euphoria of elevation

About Ijagun Poetry Journal
Ijagun Poetry Journal is a quarterly journal that provides a platform from which we can tell our own stories in the authenticity of their multiplicity through the poetic medium.
